Is Boil Lancing Treatment Good For You?

Most Boils also known as skin abscess appear as a red lump on the skin that grows and becomes filled with pus. This is commonly due to infection around the hair follicles and the boils can be found at your back, neck, armpit or any part of the body.

The boil will usually take several days before it is ready to be lanced. Look out for the formation of a head (a small pustule) and when the boil becomes soft.

The easiest way to treat your boil is probably to Lance it, or bursting it to release the pressure and let the pus flow out. This is a painful process and if not done correctly, the affected area could be infected with bacteria and filled with pus again.

The right way to lance a boil is to sterilize the affected area and needle with alcohol and prepare a bandage for the wound. You will need to wash your hands with soap and ensure they are clean to prevent bacteria from affecting the wound, before you actually burst the boil.

But if you are not brave enough to endure the pain, there are some alternative to treat a boil.

You can try using moisture and heat for boils treatment.

Soak the boil in warm water and this should relieve some pain and drain the boil out. Also, a warm, damp compact applied to the skin for 20-30 minutes, 3-4 times a day can also draw the boil out.

Once the boil drains, you need to wash the wound with antibacterial soap, or apply iodine to ensure that no bacteria can enter the fresh wound and cause further infection of the boil.

The final way of removing boil without much pain and naturally is to use the
homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy works holistically, addressing a condition's mental and physical aspects.

When treating boils with homeopathy, observe any accompanying emotions in addition to the primary symptom of localized skin abscesses.

One of the homeopathic medicine Echinacea is a very popular and commonly used herbal supplement that boosts the immune system naturally. It can be taken by people who frequently suffer from boils, to prevent recurring infections.

Hepar Sulphur, also called "Liver of Sulphur" is a name which was given by the old chemists to several sulphur compounds that have a liver-colored appearance, including Hepar. It is particularly useful when a person develops extreme skin sensitivity. Hepar will likely be actting on the boil before they open, reducing pain, itch and swelling.
